nortehaus has been a love project in the making since 2019. “norte” means north in Spanish and “haus” means house in German. “north house” is a representation of the unique family blend behind nortehaus. Even before the pandemic, it was clear that our little family of 3 (an Ecuadorian and German couple with a little Canadian one), needed a zen escape from the hustle culture we were exposed to every day in Toronto. And so, somewhat naively, we decided to build our escape from scratch. We partnered with the architects over at MAFCOHouse to design every nook and cranny of nortehaus with the intention of maximize tranquility and nature into every space.

But * enter plot twist * : in early 2022 we had an unexpected and exciting opportunity to move to Portugal yet, we could not imagine parting ways with nortehaus. And so, we have now partnered with the team at All Ten Wards who share our vision of providing outstanding and authentic guest experiences, to bring nortehaus to you. nortehaus was designed to be our slow and peaceful second home, and now, we feel so grateful that we are able to share it with you.
